The Environment
All John Brash timbers are sourced from renewable and environmentally well managed
sources. All John Brash softwood is either FSC or PEFC certified. Hardwoods
are sourced from well managed forests and wherever possible, carry independent
certification. Currently timber is imported from across Scandinavia, Finland,
Russia, the UK and Central Europe.

In most of these countries felling is tightly controlled and in many cases the
annual growth is more than the annual felling. It is also now becoming widely
recognised that timber is one of the most environmentally friendly building materials.
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international non-governmental organisation
dedicated to promoting the responsible management of the world's forests. The
FSC logo, together with the organisations chain of custody number, verifies that
the wood comes from independently certified, well managed forests or other controlled
sources. John Brash's certificate number is TT-COC-1967.

The PEFC Council (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes)
is an independent, non-profit, non-government organisation, which promotes sustainable
managed forests through independent third party certification. The PEFC logo
and registration number provides assurance to purchases that they are promoting
the sustainable management of forests. John Brash's PEFC licence number is PEFC/16-37-040.
